Hundreds of migrant farmworkers and foreign guestworkers were recruited to work in the onion fields of south Georgia for a subsidiary of one of the country's largest food companies. But when they were repeatedly short-changed on payday, the company attempted to avoid responsibility by blaming a labor broker.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, representing the workers, has won the first round in the case against Del Monte Fresh Produce Southeast.
